Wyoming Teacher Salary Information
Wyoming Teaching Salaries are currently on the rise. Public sentiment toward Wyoming public education has forced new, more forward thinking proposals to be suggested. While the importance of education toward playing the role of stabilizing an economy is being accepted, the Wyoming government is proposing higher teacher salaries and increased incentives for highly qualified teachers to enter and stay within Wyoming's public educational system.
Through a current (as of January 2007) grant proposal, the Wyoming Department of Education has suggested the following as one of the reasons for a Mathematics and Science Partnership Grant:
"Improve and upgrade the status and stature of mathematics and science teaching by encouraging institutions of higher education to assume greater responsibility for improving mathematics and science teacher education through the establishment of a comprehensive, integrated system of recruiting, training, and advising mathematics and science teachers."
Wyoming is committed to providing increasing salary incentives for teachers who earn advanced degrees and solidify themselves as more effective teachers with regard to student achievement.
