Wisconsin Certification Renewal:
Fulfill the requirements and follow the steps below to renew your Wisconsin 5-year teaching certification.
- 5-year Wisconsin Certification Renewal:
- You must complete at least 6 semester hours of coursework or 180 clock hours.

You may count courses required in a program leading to a master's degree

You may also renew your certification based on the completion of the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) Certification process.

Or, in collaboration with your local Wisconsin School District, you may develop and complete a Professional Development Plan under PI-34
Complete the renewal application (Form PI-1602-5R)
You must provide evidence of completing the professional growth requirments of Wisconsin.
Fulfill one of the following options to renew your certification.
You will also need to provide an renewal application processing fee of $100 by check or money order mady payable to the "Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction".
Provide Official Trancripts of any coursework completed for renewal credit.
