Vermont Certification Renewal:
The Vermont Standards Board for Professinal Educators (VSBPE) has established 68 Local Standards Boards (LSBs) and 6 Regional Standards Boards (RSBs) who have been created to help aid educators stay up to date with the most current trends and requirements for Vermont Educator's to keep their educator certificates valid and their teaching practices professional and worthy of their professional teaching licenses.
Level I Vermont Certifications are valid for 3 years and the Level II Vermont Certification is valid for 7 years.
In order to renew a Level I or Level II license, you will need to contact your Local Standards Board or Regional Standards Board to find out exactly what you need to do in order to renew your certification.
To renew a level II certification, you will also need to abide by the Individual Professional Development Plan you should have already created.
In order to advance a level I certificate to a level II certificate, you will need to have taught for 3 years under the support of a mentor, completed all that was required of you under your IPDP, and received a recommendation from your employing school district stating that you have displayed competencies in your field and in your teaching practices.
