Rhode Island Teacher Certification Reciprocity:

Rhode Island has signed an interstate agreement with other states called the Interstate Certification Compact or ICC. This agreement allows for teachers and teacher candidates who have completed teacher education programs to easily begin teaching in Rhode Island. The newly adopted avenue to certification is called "Enhanced Reciprocity".

Find out if your state has signed this contract with Rhode Island.

The following are a list of requirements an out-of-state teacher, or someone who has completed their teacher preparation out-of-state, must satisfy before being qualified to apply for a Rhode Island teaching certification.
