North Dakota Teacher Certification Renewal:

  • You will need to consult a certification officer at the North Dakota Education and Standards Board to find out all requirements you will need to fulfill to renew or advance your certification.

    One option is to advance your certification by earning an advanced degree such as a Master's degree or a Doctoral degree.

    The following are the typical requirements for earning and renewing a 5-year professional North Dakota teaching license:
    • You must have successfully taught for at least 18-months in the state of North Dakota.
    • You must complete at least 4 semester hours of continuing education to renew your 5-year certification.
