The following are the procedures and requirements for Renewing my Montana Teacher Certification .


• Renewing a Class 2 Standard Teaching Licence:
  
  Download a renewal application here.
  
  The following are acceptable combinations of college credit and OPI renewal units

  • 3 semester credites and 15 OPI renewal units
  • 4 semester credits
  • 4 quarter credits and 20 OPI renewal units
  • 5 quarter credits and 10 OPI renewal units
  • 6 quarter credits

  
  You may also choose to apply for a Class 1 Professional Teaching License. The following are the requirements to advance your license:

  • You must either have completed a Master's degree or 30 graduate semester credits beyond a bachelor's degree in professional education or an endorsable teaching area.
  • You must have successfully completed at least 3 years of teaching experience.

• Renewing a Class 1 Professional Teaching Licence:
  
  Download and complete a renewal application here.
  
  You will need to complete 60 OPI renewal units.
