Renewing your Massachusetts Teacher Certification:

The following are requirements and information for Massachusetts teacher certification renewal and advancement:


The following are the requirements for acquiring a Professional Massachusetts Teaching Licensure.
  • Complete a Mentor and Induction program the first year of your teaching career.
  • Successfully complete 3 years of teaching experience.

  • Plus 1 of the following:

  • Complete 50 contact hours of content based seminars.
  • Complete at least 9 credits in the academic field of your teaching licensure.
  • Obtain a National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification.
