Practitioner Teacher Program:The Louisiana Practitioner Teacher Program offers the candidate a provisional teaching certification when he/she is accepted into the program.
Over the following year, you will be inducted into a mentoring program as you teacher as well as take teacher education courses to accompany your mentoring.

There are three different avenues to receive a Louisiana Alternative Teacher Certification. The following avenue is the most popular option to alternative certification.
*Important* -- You must possess a Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university to be considered for the for the Louisiana Alternative Certification programs.
You must also pass the Pre-Professional Skills Test (PPST) and a Content Specific Exam. Request information from the ETS website.
