Steps to becoming a teacher in Indiana:

  • Indiana Teacher Certification Procedure:
  • The following are materials you will need to complete and send to the Indiana Department of Education Division of Professional Standards:
    • Download and complete State Form 9331
    • An Evaluation fee of $35 made payable to the "State of Indiana"
    • A License fee of $35 made payable to the "State of Indiana"
    • Photocopies of both sides of an un-expired out-of-state teaching license
    • An Official Instructional and/or Educational Experience verification.
    • Official Praxis Score Reports sent directly from the Educational Testing Service.
    • Limited Criminal History Report: Send application to the Indiana State Police Central Respository. Then send the returned, original report with your Indiana teacher certification application.
