Steps to becoming a teacher in Florida:

  • Receiving a Florida Teaching Certification
    • You will need to fill out an online application as if you were requesting an initial teaching certification as a Florida resident. However, if your present certificate is comparable to the Florida Teaching Certificate for your subject, knowledge and professional mastery requirements may be waved.
    • You will need to forward the following documents:
      • Official Transcripts
      • Copies of out-of-state teaching certificates
      • Any other applicable forms
