Steps to renewing your certification

You will need to provide evidence of at least 3 years of successful teaching experience.

You will need to verify satisfactory DPAS summative evaluations that will be submitted with other application material.

You will need verification of 90 clock hours of Professional Development. There are a variety of ways to fulfill the professional development quota. Request information from Online Colleges offering Masters Degrees in Education.

This certification is issued upon verification of National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification. Find out how you can earn your NBPTS Certification. This certification is based upon certain requirements of education and teaching experience as well as peer assessed scores of your teaching ability. A master's degree or doctorate degree in education is not required, however, the education received from a higher education will give you the skills to better your teaching ability as well as NBPTS scores.

The Advanced Licensure Renewal will be issued upon verification of the candidate's maintenance of proficiency through the National Board for Professional Standards. Search NBPTS website for more information. A link to their site is above.

The renewal of the initial continuing license is valid for 5 years.
Advanced Licensure:
The Advanced Delaware Licensure is valid for 10 years.
Advanced Licensure Renewal:
The Advanced Delaware Licensure Renewal is valid for an additional 10 years.
