Colorado Teacher Certification Renewal

Steps to renewing your certification:

• Initial Teacher Certification Renewal
The Colorado Initial Teacher Certification is valid for 3 years and may be renewed more than once if you have not yet completed a teacher induction program.


• Download the renewal application, Here.
• Include a non-refundable application fee in the form of check or money order made payable to the Colorado Department of Education.
• Complete the application with Oath and Consent form.

• Professional Teacher Certification Renewal
The Professional Teacher Certification is valid for 5 years. If you wish to renew this certification, you will need to:
• Complete 6 semester hours of Continuing Teacher Education, OR 90 clock hours of Professional Development
• Download renewal application, Here.
• Include non-refundable application processing fee in the form of check or money order made payable to the Colorado Department of Education.
• Include Official Transcripts of the coursework you completed.
