Steps to renewing your certification:

  • Initial Teacher Certification Renewal
  • Actually, the Arkansas Initial Teacher Certification is non-renewable! However, as an Initial Teacher Certification holder, you have had a trained mentor supporting your teaching practice and professional growth. On the recommendation of your mentor, you will take the Praxis III assessment exam. Upon successful completion of this exam, you will be issued your 5-year Standard Teacher Certification.

  • Standard Teacher Certification Renewal
  • The Standard Teacher Certification will be automatically renewed as long as the following criteria are met:
    • Step 1:
You must have verification of 2 years teaching experience.

    • Step 2:
You must hold a Standard Teaching License.

    • Step 3:
Automatic renewals will be generated the fall of the year before the license's expiration date.

    • Step 4:
If you do not meet the requirements for automatic renewal, you will need to call for a renewal packet at: (501) 682-4342

    • Step 5:
      Sit Back and Relax!
