Steps to renewing your certification:
- Provisional Teacher Certification Renewal
- Standard Teacher Certification
- Step 1:You must have qualified and held a Provisional Certificate for two years.
- Step 2:You must hold a current Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card

Step 3:Satisfactory completion of two years in the classroom under the Provisional Teacher Certification.
- Standard Teacher Certification Renewal
- Step 1:You must have clocked 180 hours of professional development activities or 12 semester hours of educational coursework.
- Step 2:You must hold a current Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card

Step 3:You will need to submit an application packet containing the following contents (download application packet, Here):

Completed application form

$20* non-refundable application fee

Official Transcripts of coursework

Photocopy of your Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card

You must have District Verification of Professional Training. This is fulfilled through the signature on page two of the renewal application OR;
- Official Transcripts of Academic Coursework from accredited institution(s).
* If paying by check or money order, make payable to the Arizona Department of Education.

Step 4:Sit Back and Relax!
Actually, the Arizona Provisional Teacher Certification is non-renewable! However, you may request an extension for two years. In order to continue teaching after this, you must apply for and receive an Arizona Standard Teacher Certification.
This certification is valid for 5 years.
