Arizona Teacher Reciprocity

You may be eligible for a Reciprocal Provisional Teacher Certificate. You will need to contact the Arizona Department of Education - Certification Unit to find out if your current certification is accepted. (602) 542-4367

If you are eligible for a Reciprocal Provisional Teacher Certificate, you will need to fulfill the following requirments:
  • Applicants will have one year to satisfy the AEPA proficiency exams; however,
  • The Professional Knowledge exam may be waived if the applicant has completed three years of satisfactory teaching experience.
  • The Subject Knowledge exam may be waived if the applicant holds a Master's degree in the field of applicants teaching subject area.
  • Both exams may be waived if the applicant holds a current certificate from the National Board of 0Professional Teaching Standards.
